Garden Policy

One of the main goals in community gardening is to work together or next to each other in relative harmony. Please be courteous in all interactions, and work together to resolve any disagreements. Contact your Garden Manager for guideline clarifications or plot delineation. Garden Managers will check plots regularly to encourage productive use by participants. Gardeners should make arrangements for plot maintenance and notify the Garden Manager if they will be away for more than a week.

 

In the spirit of cooperation, all gardeners shall treat the garden, other gardeners, neighbors, and visitors with respect and consideration. No stealing (harvesting from others’ plots without authorization), verbal or physical harassment is not allowed. Violation of this rule will result in expulsion from the garden.

Safety Guidelines

Please see the following for some of the guidelines our Garden follows to ensure:

• Lock the fence and storage shed. 

• Randomly rotate the dials of the combination lock so the code is not easily determinable.

• Keep tools secured in sheds when they are not in use.

• Consider visibility in the design of your garden plot. Tall plants make it difficult for neighbors and park users to observe activity. Where possible, plant lower growing plants in areas that have been vulnerable to theft and vandalism.

• Harvest your crops as soon as they are ripe to reduce temptations to steal.

Report criminal and suspicious activity happening now by calling:

• 9-1-1 for an immediate threat to life or property or a crime in progress.

• The police non-emergency number at  for suspicious activity that is not an immediate threat to life or property.

  • How do I add a new question & answer? (Demo)
    To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Click ‘Manage FAQ’ button 2. From your site’s dashboard you can add, edit and manage all your questions and answers 3. Each question and answer should be added to a category 4. Save and publish.
  • How do I edit or remove the “FAQ” title? (Demo)
    You can edit the title from the Settings tab in the app. If you don’t want to display the title, simply disable the Title under ‘Info to Display.’
